The Swiss Federal Council has recently opened a public consultation on a draft amendment to the Financial Institutions Act (LEFin), aiming to define a new regulatory framework for cryptoassets and stablecoins in Switzerland.
This proposal marks a decisive turning point for the future of the blockchain ecosystem, redefining the scope of FINMA’s powers, licensing requirements for crypto service providers, and identification rules for token holders.
