The BIS Innovation Summit is the annual flagship event of the BIS Innovation Hub, convening central bankers, regulators, technology leaders and academics to explore how innovation is reshaping the future of finance. Now in its fifth edition, the 2025 Summit will take place from 9 to 11 September at the BIS Tower in Basel, Switzerland.
Last year's Summit welcomed over 300 participants in person and 3,500 online, reflecting its growing importance as a platform for meaningful conversations at the intersection of finance and technology. We expect strong engagement once again this year, both on-site in Basel and through our virtual audience.
This year's theme, "Future-proofing central banks", will focus on how institutions can adapt and stay resilient in the face of rapid technological change. From the potential of AI and quantum computing to shifting talent needs and new approaches to risk, the Summit will explore what central banks need to stay ahead.
