The IMFS Conference on Independence of Central Banks and Financial Supervisors will be held February 12 and 13, 2026 at Campus Westend, Goethe University Frankfurt, and offers in-depth analysis on the role and autonomy of central banks and financial supervisory bodies from legal and economic perspectives. It brings together academics, policymakers and practitioners to examine issues surrounding institutional independence, legitimacy of monetary and supervisory functions, empirical evidence, and varying frameworks in the United States and Europe. Sessions include keynote talks, panel discussions, and roundtable exchanges focusing on central bank independence, democratic accountability, financial stability oversight, and current challenges in monetary policy and regulation.
